The Lie-Spy (Spotter)

Undercovers S01E04 Jailbreak

This week's episode dealt with the theft (and recovery) of a hard drive containing CIA databases of top-secret detention centers and their detainees.
I don't know exactly what happened this week, but the unrealistic errors were ridiculously out-of-control! Although there was one that was explained away, some were really horrible.

The idea that the government would keep such classified documents on a portable hard drive that could easily be stolen without completely encrypting it to the hilt is ludicrous. While I could see some being stolen, that ALL the places and people would be kept in one place...it's crazy.

Another technology point that bothered me was how they got the hotel room number. While I could definitely picture them hacking into the hotel's wireless network and getting the room number that way, I don't see how holding a phone near the computer would do the same thing. Unless there's an app for that now too. :P Then sticking a spy camera in the wall vents in order to spy on the room below??

And the lie detector thing? Okay I understood the possibility of it happening, since I also watch Lie to Me. But it just seemed a bit improbable that the one time Steven needed to detect the lie, he didn't.
Unfortunately, there wasn't as much humor this time around, so those glaring mistakes really made an impression - and not a good one either.
