A Pirates' Life for Me...

Castle S03E03 Under the Gun

This week's episode is a humorous plot upon a plot upon a plot, with people making deals with others, cutting others in and out, and eavesdropping for a treasure worth $10 million (though now, it's worth more like $30). Almost every character they meet seems to be unrelated to the original murder, although Castle sees a conspiracy and claims that the document of random drawings is the key.
Once they discover that it is in actuality a treasure map, everything seems to fall into place.

Surprisingly, the family relationships didn't have much to do with figuring out the murder this time around although bringing in Alexis' supposed wild-side allowed for Beckett's past indiscretions to come to light. Poor Beckett can't catch a break - almost every guy we've seen her with past and present has been horrible, except for Demming.

The funniest thing is that I could tell it was the same writer as a previous episode, S02E09 Love Me Dead. The guy they dragged in (Random) was a smooth-talker, just like Norman from before. He was 'jogging and cross-training' instead of running away and climbing down the building.

Can't wait for the next episode!
